J3 Racing Ready for Road America

Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin -- J3 Racing has traveled to up state Wisconsin for round seven of the American Le Mans Series race to be run at Elkhart Lake's Road America on Sunday.

Tim Sugden will partner J3 Racing regular Justin Jackson behind the wheel of the number 79/J3 Racing/Porsche 911 RSR for the Generac 500. Last year the duo was able to post a fifth place finish at the classic road racing venue.

The team is looking to get back on track and equal their best finishes of the season. In the series first race at Sebring, they were second and at Mid-Ohio they were able to come home third.

"We spent the practice session dialing the Porsche into the track," said Justin Jackson. "The car seems a little down on power down the straight, the telemetry shows about an eight mile-per-hour lag, which kills us here. I really like this track, it has every kind of turn and the undulating layout reminds me of my home track Road Atlanta. Tim and I will get the handling down and be ready for Sunday's race."

Teammate Tim Sugden has been looking forward to racing at Road America since last year. "This is my favorite track on the calendar. It really challenges the driver. Just when you think you should brake, it begs you to go deeper and carry more speed. It is a track that has not been hampered by the safety freaks. This is the type of track that most of the European circuits used to be. We need to work on the handling of the car and search for some more grip from the tires."

The Generac 500 from Road America will be televised live on the Speed Channel starting at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21st.
