ELKHART LAKE, WI August 19, 2006 - Dyson Racing has won the pole at Road America the past two years running, but third time the charm was not to be during today's qualifying for the Generac 500. James Weaver qualified fourth, beating Butch Leitzinger's record pole time of 2004 by sixth-tenths of a second. Chris Dyson lines up seventh, only three tenths of a second behind his teammate.

Weaver lost valuable time during the session right before qualifying with shifting and engine management electrical problems and had to go back to a manual shifting for the qualifying session. The #16 car in the blue and white colors of Thetfor/Norcold came in with four minutes remaining in qualifying to adjust the tire pressures and go out for one last attempt. Weaver was the only car left on the track and when commenting afterwards on the final effort, he said it was "a good try. Peter Weston, our race engineer, said it must have been the traffic which is a little bit facetious since I was the traffic!"

"The tires started to overpressure," commented Dyson after his qualifying session. "We gave it all we had, but we were loosing Click here for hi-res a bit down the straights. Our team knows these cars and this track well. Today's starting positions reflect the speed and progress we have made with the cars this year. Unfortunately, the diesels are in a category of their own. But tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warm, perfect Road America weather and we will give it our best."
