Monterey – May 11 – Driving with a new aerodynamic package for the American Le Mans Series this weekend, the three Porsche 911 GT3 RSR teams have made significant progress setting up their race cars for Saturday’s ALMS by Patron Six-Hour enduro.

Jens Walther, president of Porsche Motorsport North America, Inc., was grateful for all the work the teams put in to make the aero kit work with their suspension and tire setup.

“Everyone made great progress from the first session Wednesday to qualifying this afternoon, and with the top ten cars in GT within a second of the pole, we feel that our performance is headed in the right direction,” said Walther.

Patrick Long, qualifying the #45 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in four position in the car he will share with Joerg Bergmeister, lopped off more than a second off his earlier practice time in the 20-minute session.

“The car felt good with the new package, and the Lizard crew made improvements from session to session. We are quite satisfied with fourth place and a competitive time,” said Long.

Bryan Sellers put the Team Falken Tire Porsche ninth on the grid – still within that one-second time frame, in the car he co-drives with Wolf Henzler, while the Sascha Maassen/Bryce Miller Porsche is tenth and the Seth Neiman/Marco Holzer Flying Lizard Porsche 12th.
