By the time the race leading No. 7 Penske Porsche RS Spyder came in for his splash and go, the good quick stop he needed would beat the No. 15 Lowe's Fernandez Acura ARX01B, which had earlier made super quick splash and go of their own.

Leitzinger was never able to get the No. 20 Dyson Racing Team's Porsche RS Spyder closer to the front -- struggling with a balky power steering unit that blew up with about eight minutes to go. Butch did hold on to give Dyson a well-deserved podium in this storied venue.

When Guy Smith brought the No. 16 Dyson Racing Team's Porsche RS Spyder in for a late splash and go, it allowed the No. 1 Audi AG R10 / TDI to slip past into fourth overall.

So the Dyson cars finished third and fifth -- third and fourth in LMP2. Not a bad start to the 2008 American Le Mans Series.
