Braselton, GA: Michael Swaine will be replacing Tres Stephenson as Executive Director at Road Atlanta Motor Sports Center, effective October 18. Stephenson will be returning to his position as Executive Director at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Florida.
Stephenson was the director at Sebring for 12 years, with Swaine serving as Director of Operations. A year ago, Stephenson moved to Road Atlanta and Swaine became the director of Sebring.
Stephenson's talent was recruited to help build Road Atlanta into a world-class facility. Now that the track has undergone millions of dollars worth of improvements and the Petit Le Mans has been successfully established, Stephenson is returning to Sebring.
Road Atlanta looks forward to continued growth in racing and welcomes Swaine, who is excited about his new position at Road Atlanta. "This is a great opportunity to foster Road Atlanta's growth as it continues to develop. I look forward to this new challenge in my career," says Swaine.
During his directorship at Sebring, Swaine laid the groundwork for several major improvements. The old pits and tower were torn down in preparation for new ones, and construction was begun on a facility for the Panoz Racing School and an 81-room hotel complete with a spa, restaurant and conference rooms.
