Mosport Podium for Cosmo
(9 September 05)--Guy Cosmo and teammate Jamie Bach scored another podium finish with a run to third place in the LMP2 category this weekend in the Grand Prix of Mosport for round eight of the American Le Mans Series. Driving their Sportsbook.com Mazda-powered Courage, Cosmo and Bach collected valuable points in the drivers championship and have a firm hold on third place with two rounds to go in the season.
"The car was really good this weekend thanks to all the progress B-K Motorsports is making with this program," said Cosmo. "Jamie did a great job in his stint, and I really enjoyed my drive during the race here at Mosport. The track is phenomenally challenging and fun, and our 3-Rotor Mazda just screams around here. After this weekend, we should be in great shape for the Petite Le Mans."
Cosmo and Bach will be sharing the cockpit of the Sportsbook.com Courage with a new face for Georgia's famous endurance race, although it's a name that is familiar in all of racing as veteran Elliot Forbes-Robinson will be joining the B-K Motorsports effort in October.
"I'm really excited that EFR will be racing with us at Road Atlanta," said Cosmo. "The experience and insight he'll bring to our program is invaluable, and to have the chance to learn from such an accomplished driver is a privilege. He's definitely got more experience than both Jamie and I put together -- it's a great opportunity for us."
Cosmo has been a busy man of late, bouncing from track to track around the country for races in addition to his busy schedule working as a private driver coach, and was quick to point out the effort that has been going into continuing to improve the potent Mazda/Courage combination.
"I want to thank Dennis Spencer and everyone from Fabworks Machine and Design for all of their hard work recently, and of course the B-K Motorsports crew, Mazda, Goodyear and certainly Sportsbook.com. Our accomplishments thus far are incredible considering the extremely short time this program has been running. We will find ourselves back on the top of the podium again soon!"
Cosmo changes driver suits once again this week, as he will be joining teammate Mark Plummer and BGB Motorsports for this weekend's Grand-Am Cup 200 at Phoenix International Raceway, Saturday, September 10th. The tape-delay broadcast will air via SPEED Channel Sunday, October 30th at 1 p.m. ET.
