Goodyear, Dyson win ALMS race at Mosport

MOSPORT, Ont., Canada (Aug 9, 2004) -- Butch Leitzinger and James Weaver, driving for the Goodyear-equipped Dyson Racing team, dominated the Toronto Grand Prix of Mosport American Le Mans Series race at Mosport International Raceway.

The co-drivers wracked up some impressive statistics along the way. Weaver recorded the fastest lap in qualifying, putting the car on the pole for a series-best fourth time this season. Weaver recorded the fastest lap of the race and Leitzinger crossed the finish line 16.319 seconds ahead the second place car.

A second Dyson entry, driven by Chris Dyson and Andy Wallace, finished third.

The performance of the Dyson team left little doubt that the fastest cars at Mosport were using Goodyear tires.

The victory at Mosport was Dyson's second in as many seasons, the most recent coming in July of 2003 at Sonoma. In the 15 races since the start of the 2003 season, Dyson Racing has been the only team to defeat the powerful Audi teams and both Dyson victories have come on Goodyear tires.
