TRG TAKES SIXTH AT MID-OHIO

Lexington, OH (August 8, 2010)- With strong stints by both drivers, not to mention the fastest race lap, a series of mechanical gremlins kept TRG's No. 63 off the podium and eventually finishing sixth in the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge, the sixth round of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron.

Having missed qualifying due to a gearbox problem, driver Henri Richard started his no. 63 Freescale Semiconductor/Future Electronics/Green Hills Software/LifeStudio by Hitachi Porsche GT3 Cup car, in the back of the field. From the drop of the green flag, the Frenchman was instantly gaining positions, taking advantage of some incidents between competitors as well as making great passes for position. At 45 minutes in, a timely yellow was able to bring him in for a driver change, fuel, and tires, sending race-finisher Spencer Pumpelly out for his opening stint.

For Richard, a solid stint was a hopeful beginning to a great race.

"Starting from the back meant I had no pressure from behind, and I was able to concentrate on just getting everyone in front," stated Richard, who retains second place in the drivers' point standings. "I had felt the throttle pedal stick very briefly during my stint, but it cleared itself up and I thought we'd be OK. It's very disappointing to have such a rough weekend with so many mechanical problems, but the guys here all worked really hard to keep us out on track."

Taking the wheel with just under two hours to go, Spencer Pumpelly, making his GTC debut, immediately began cracking off fast lap times in pursuit of a podium. Unfortunately, just near halfway, Pumpelly reported a similar stuck throttle issue, only for him it would not fix itself.

"I stepped on the gas and the pedal just stayed there, we're actually lucky that we kept the car out of any incidents with it," stated Pumpelly. "I was hoping for a strong race today, and we definitely had the car, it just wasn't our weekend."

After going down three laps to fix the issue, the team eventually sent Pumpelly out, where he drove a flawless stint to eventually finish sixth. As an indicator of the team's speed, Pumpelly did set the fastest lap of the day.

For Team Owner Kevin Buckler, the team can take some solace in overcoming so many difficulties.

"It was a tough weekend with all of our little mechanical issues, but the team never relented on getting things taken care of quickly," stated Buckler. "Henri drove a perfect and mistake-free stint, and Spencer's fastest lap showed what we could have had and the TRG potential-- it was just not our day. I am glad we are still in the hunt. Winning races and delivering a Championship for our partner Henri is our focus."
