Mid-Ohio Shows Appreciation For Armed Forces With Free Admission For ALMS Event

Lexington, OH - Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio is extending a very special thank you to the members of the United States Armed Forces for their dedicated and heroic service, as well as the families who support them. During the American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio, Friday, June 25 through Sunday, June 27, those serving in any branch of the Armed Forces, both active and reserve, and/or their immediate family members, will receive free admission to the weekend event.

"The servicemen and women of our Armed Forces have given so much to our great country, and it is a privilege to give something back," said Michelle Trueman Gajoch, President of TrueSports, Inc, owner and operator of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. "Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course wants to show its appreciation to these admirable individuals and their families by providing them with a weekend of great racing on us."

Military members and families attending the American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio will be treated to a weekend full of events, highlighted by the ultra competitive American Le Mans Series. Many of the drivers who had competed just two weeks prior in the 24 Hours of Le Mans will return to the rolling hills of Mid-Ohio to tackle the 2.25-mile course. With the green flag scheduled to wave at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon for a 2-hour, 45-minute race, drivers will jockey for both an overall win and a class win in four distinct classes.

"This is a tremendous gesture by Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in appreciation of those who have given and continue to sacrifice so much," said Scott Atherton, President and CEO of the American Le Mans Series. "We are very honored that it will happen at our event."

Adding to the weekend's excitement will be the Speed World Challenge Series, Star Mazda Series, Panoz Racing Series, Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship Series, and SCCA Pro Miata Series.

All military and immediate family members are welcome to take advantage of this offer of appreciation. Those wishing to do so, can simply show their military identification card and another picture I.D. at the main gate for free admittance.

American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio will be Round Two of the 2004 season for the ALMS and will include a two-hour, 45-minute timed event on Sunday, June 27. The race, which will be the first ALMS event at Mid-Ohio since 2002, will be televised live by CBS Sports in North America and MotorsTV in Europe and will be broadcast live by the American Le Mans Series Radio Web online at www.americanlemans.com.

General ticket information for the Mid-Ohio event is available online at www.americanlemans.com or by calling 1-800-MID-OHIO.
