MIAMI -- September 13, 2002 -- Grand Prix Americas, Downtown Miami's premier auto street race, has secured four premium companies as sponsors for Grand Prix Americas to be held October 4 -- 6, announced Chuck M. Martinez, president and general manager, Grand Prix Americas. The sponsors include:

* Cadillac -- Title Sponsor of the American Le Mans Series race on Saturday, October 5.

* Lalique -- Official Timepiece of Grand Prix Americas as well as the title sponsor of The Lalique Club presented by The Collection. Winners of the three races will receive Lalique trophies.

* THE COLLECTION -- Presenting Sponsor of The Lalique Club where they will showcase all seven of their luxury automobile brands: Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Jaguar and Lotus.

* Mumm -- Official Champagne of Grand Prix Americas.

The Lalique Club presented by The Collection will be an exclusive area for individuals and corporations. The Club will feature reserved tables located trackside, access to the track and paddock areas, closed circuit televisions, food and a premium open bar.

"The additions of these four luxury lifestyle brands, Cadillac, Lalique, The Collection and Mumm, solidify our place as a major event in the City of Miami," said Martinez. "These luxury brands truly reflect the South Florida lifestyle."

Grand Prix Americas will speed through the streets of Miami on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 4-6. Racecars will reach speeds of more than 180 mph on the 1.57-mile circuit making their way through Bayfront Park, Biscayne Boulevard and downtown streets. The world-class racing event will feature The Cadillac American Le Mans Challenge on Saturday, the CART Fed Ex Championship Series on Sunday afternoon and the Trans-Am for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup Races immediately following the Champ cars.

The high-voltage auto street race, dubbed "The Blast by the Bay," will feature three days of exciting street racing, concerts and parties Grand Marshaled by Hispanic TV star and model, Sofia Vergara. Fans will have the opportunity to meet world famous drivers by attending several autograph sessions held throughout the weekend.

Cadillac's endurance-racing program is a fundamental part of the brand's aggressive strategy to grow business and to accelerate a change in perception of the brand. In the final year of its three-year program, Cadillac and its two LMP entries will complete at Laguna Seca on Sept. 22 before the Miami event. The Cadillac Program will conclude by running at the ALMS season ending Petit Le Mans in Atlanta on Oct. 12.
