Marino Franchitti last week travelled to Virginia to test one of the Audi North America works supported Audi S4's. Marino was given the opportunity to shake the car down at Sebring earlier in the year, but in Virginia he was able to test it more thoroughly; and he did. At the end of the day his times were matching last year's champion of the Speed World GT Challenge and this season's current points leader, Mike Galati.

"It was fantastic" said Marino, "the car has so much power and on normal road tyres it is really challenging drive". Marino will take the wheel of the Audi S4 in earnest when he competes in the last round of the Speed World GT Challenge at the Virginia International Raceway in October.

In the immediate future - Marino will be back behind the wheel of a Viper this coming weekend. This coming weekend he will race in the No. 45 Viper of Team American Viper Racing when they compete in the 6th Round of the ALMS Championship when it visits the Trois Rivieres circuit in Quebec, Canada. Like the last round at Washington, Trois Rivieres, is also a street circuit, but reputed to be much more bumpy and not as wide as the Washington track. The car has undergone various modifications since Washington and Marino is looking forward to edging his way closer to the factory Corvettes.
