Luhr keeps Muscle Milk on top in warmup at Road America

Lucas Luhr set the fastest time in Saturday morning’s 30-minute warmup for today’s Road America Road Race Showcase – a 1:52.038 lap in the pole- sitting Muscle Milk Pickett Racing Honda Performance Development ARX-03a prototype. Klaus Graf, Luhr’s teammate, qualified on pole position Friday as the pair tries for back-to-back wins at Road America.

A victory today also will be their sixth straight in the American Le Mans Series. They lead the ALMS’ P1 championship over Chris Dyson and Guy Smith from Dyson Racing. The team’s No. 16 Lola-Mazda coupe with Dyson driving was second in P1 at 1:54.437.

BMW Team RLL led the GT class for the first time this weekend. Bill Auberlen set a lap of 2:06.024 in the No. 55 BMW M3 GT that he drives with Jörg Müller. Patrick Long was 0.374 seconds back in Flying Lizard Motorsports’ No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.

Luis Diaz was the quickest P2 driver in Level 5 Motorsports’ No. 95 HPD ARX- 03b. The top three cars were within 0.227 seconds with David Heinemeier- Hansson second in the pole-sitting No. 37 Conquest Endurance Morgan-Nissan at 1:58.170.

In Prototype Challenge, Marino Franchitti went fastest in class for PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. His lap of 2:01.049 on the final pass around the circuit in the No. 52 ORECA FLM09 was 0.842 seconds better than CORE autosport’s Jon Bennett.

JDX Racing’s Martin Ragginger set the pace in GT Challenge in the No. 11 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. His time of 2:14.520 gave him a 0.178-second gap back to Green Hornet Racing’s Damien Faulkner.
