SELLERS RETURNS TO LIME ROCK PARK, TEAM FALKEN TIRE READY TO RACE
Lakeville, CT -- July 22 Bryan Sellers will pilot the #17 Team Falken Tire Porsche this weekend at Lime Rock Park, part of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patr0x00f3n [ALMS]. The green flag drops on the 2010 American Le Mans Series Northeast Grand Prix on Saturday, July 24, and Sellers is ready to get back in the driver's seat.
With four rounds of the 2010 ALMS schedule complete thus far, Bryan Sellers has already had a busy race season. Sellers' last ALMS race was both eventful and educational, as a car fire claimed the rear end of his Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. But with a successful race start, and even better finish (P-9 in class), Sellers provided his team with crucial tire data to analyze. Said Sellers, "We were able to learn a lot in [Salt Lake City] with our tire development, and Lime Rock will be no different."
Team Falken Tire has entered their car for the complete 2010 season of the ALMS, and their game plan is simple: achieve victory by continually developing and improving the car and tire set-up. Driver insight and analysis is a critical part of the equation, and Sellers knows that each race is essential for the Falken Tire Program. "Lime Rock will be an extremely important race for Team Falken Tire," remarked Sellers, "because it will control the direction we head with our development for the remainder of the year." And with Sellers behind the wheel, that direction is pointed towards success.
Lime Rock Park isn't a new venue for Sellers, as he's raced the 1.53-mile circuit several times. But besides the fast turns, challenging chicanes, and elevation changes, Sellers loves the history that comes with the 53-year-old track -- and the fans. "Lime Rock is a great event," said Sellers. "For me, the best races we go to are the ones where the fans are knowledgeable and enjoy racing. I have been coming to Lime Rock for a lot of years, and it's always great to see the hillside full [of fans]!"
Fans can see the #17 Team Falken Tire Porsche qualify on Friday, June 23 at 4:10pm EDT along with the rest of the Grand Tourismo (GT) Class in the ALMS. Sellers, and teammate Wolf Henzler, will start the 2010 American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix on Saturday, June 24 at 2:05pm EDT. The 2 hours and 45 minutes race will be broadcast on Speed TV beginning at 2:00pm, as well as live on RadioLeMans.com.
