(July 31, 2000) San Francisco, California -- Jennifer Tumminelli, Tiburon, California resident heads to Mosport International Raceway for the American Le Mans Series globemegawheels.com Grand Prix at Mosport on Aug. 6th. This will be Tumminelli's second American Le Mans Series race.
Tumminelli recently completed her first American Le Mans Series race at Sears Point Raceway, California in the (blue/green) #67 Scient Porsche 911 GT3R finishing 8th out of 15 in the GT class and 18th out of 29 overall. The Scient Racing Team struggled with an overheating problem that resulted in 5 pit stops.
"Mosport is going to be challenging in many ways for the Scient Racing Team. We are a new team and I have never been to Mosport before. I hear that the track is quite technical and in some ways similar to Sears Point. My Crew Chief, Forry Hargitt gave me a great set-up on the #67 car at Sears Point so we are hoping to carry that momentum at Mosport" states Jennifer Tumminelli.
The Scient / Racers Group Team has recently hired accomplished Race Director, Tony Dows who most recently served on the Dick Barbour Racing Team and Panoz Motorsports.
"Tony brings a wealth of knowledge to this new team management position and we are really excited to have him join the Scient/Racers Group team. I look forward to working with him at Mosport." adds Jennifer Tumminelli.
A new late 3rd driver entry has been added to the #67 Scient Racing Team. Entered is Robert Orcutt of Scott Valley, California who is an accomplished racer and driver coach.
"I added Robert to our driver roster so we can gain more momentum at Mosport. Robert brings a wealth of driving experience to the Scient Racing Team and I excited to have him on board." states Jennifer Tumminelli.
The 2-hour 45-minute globemegawheels.com Grand Prix of Mosport is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6. It will be televised live on NBC Sports from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The American Le Mans Series Radio Web will broadcast live Aug. 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Aug. 5 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Aug. 6 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (all EDT).
