ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Nov. 29, 2006) - Tickets for the 2007 Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will go on sale to the general public Friday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. (EST). All ticket prices will remain unchanged from 2006 for the 2007 event.
Beginning Friday, three-day reserved tickets will be available, with prices starting at $85 for adults and $55 for children under 12. All tickets purchased between Dec. 1 and Jan. 14 will include a free pass to the IndyCar Series paddock, which carries a value of $55.
The third annual event will be held March 30 through April 1 with race action to be held again on a temporary street circuit in downtown St. Petersburg. In addition to the IndyCar Series race on April 1, the event will also feature the first American Le Mans Series race in St. Petersburg on Saturday, March 31, giving fans an additional world-class race event to enjoy.
Beginning Jan. 15, single-day reserved tickets will be sold, with race-day prices starting at $40 for adults and $15 for children under 12 with multi-day general admission ticket packages running $45 for adults and $20 for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Honda Grand Prix box office at (727) 824-7223 (extension 225), by visiting the event's website at www.gpstpete.com or through Ticketmaster.
Renewal requests have been mailed out to 2006 ticket holders, which offer them the first opportunity to reserve seats for the 2007 event. Renewal customers have until Jan. 15, 2007, to return a ticket order for those seats. Following that date, any tickets not renewed will be added to the allotment available to the general public.
In addition to individual ticket sales, the Honda Grand Prix is offering a free IndyCar Series paddock pass to groups purchasing 10 or more 3-day reserved tickets. Group purchases are only available through the HGPSP box office. Corporate hospitality and sponsorship packages are also still available.
"In only two years, the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg has become a premier sports event that emphasizes the fan experience throughout," said Tim Ramsberger, vice president and general manager of the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. We've had two exciting IndyCar Series events and we're thrilled to have Danica Patrick, Dan Wheldon, Helio Castroneves and Marco Andretti back for another race. And, the addition of an American Le Mans Series event only strengthens the weekend and adds value for all our race fans."
The 2006 Honda Grand Prix race weekend featured more than 20 hours of on-track racing activity in addition to more than six hours of concerts sponsored by XM Satellite Radio and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel.
The 2007 Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will be the second race on the Indy Racing League schedule. The weekend will feature a three-hour American Le Mans Series event on Saturday, IRL Pro Series events on both Saturday and Sunday, and the IndyCar Series race on Sunday, April 1.
