Sebring, Florida – Flying Lizard Motorsports wrapped up two full days of track time at Sebring Raceway, continuing to work on coming up to speed with its 2013 No. 44 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in the American Le Mans Series GTC class. Along the way, the team recorded multiple lap times quicker than last year's 12 Hours of Sebring GTC pole and made significant progress on its understanding of the necessary engineering setup of the car and the Yokohama GTC tire.

Drivers Spencer Pumpelly (USA), Nelson Canache Jr. (Venezuela), and Archie Hamilton (UK) completed more than 70 laps each and over 80% of the Sebring race length in total over the two day test. "This test was a great full introduction to the team in the ALMS environment." Nelson added, "I am very happy with how the team runs and it's one of the most professional teams I have had the chance to work with. Spencer did a great job and I've learned a lot from him while working on finding good pace. We've done quite a bit of setup work and are headed in the right direction."

Chief strategist Thomas Blam described the test, "It was a very encouraging outing for the team. We're in the ballpark in terms of lap time and all three drivers were quick and did great work: Spencer helped immensely thanks to his experience in GTC, Nelson was impressive in his first time around Sebring in a Cup car, and Archie did an excellent job, especially considering he had never turned a lap here prior to yesterday. We're looking forward to the race week so we can continue building on what we've accomplished so far, although we have a lot to still learn and do."

The team now heads home for final race prep at its Sonoma shop on the team's No. 44 and No. 45 GT3 Cup cars. Flying Lizard will then return to Sebring Raceway in one month's time for additional testing and to begin its 2013 GTC campaign with the first race of the ALMS season, the 12 Hours of Sebring.
