Openwave to Sponsor Flying Lizard for 2010 Racing Season

February 22, 2010 - Sonoma, CA - Flying Lizard announced today that Openwave Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV), a global software innovator delivering context-aware mediation and messaging solutions that enable communication service providers and the broader ecosystem to create and deliver smarter services, will sponsor the team for the 2010 racing season. Openwave joins returning Flying Lizard sponsors ShoreTel, eSilicon and Redlinecoffee.com for 2010.

Flying Lizard returns to the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) this year for their seventh consecutive season, fielding two Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs in the GT class. Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long, both Porsche factory drivers, are reuniting in the No. 45 Flying Lizard Porsche to defend their 2009 ALMS GT2 driver's championship title. Seth Neiman and Darren Law will team together in the No. 44 Porsche. Flying Lizard also plans to compete in the 24 Heures du Mans in June in Le Mans, France.

Openwave CEO Ken Denman commented, "We are delighted to participate in Flying Lizard's worldwide sports car racing program this year. Innovation, quality, and performance are the three cornerstones of Openwave and our products; these qualities are also at the heart of a successful professional racing team. Collaborating with Flying Lizard allows us, our customers, and our partners to be affiliated with the excitement of sports car racing and to help expand awareness for Openwave's industry leading software solutions around the world."

Flying Lizard principal Seth Neiman added, "The team is thrilled to have a company of Openwave's caliber join us as a sponsor for 2010. Openwave's advanced solutions allow service providers to better control and manage mobile phone and data content. As Flying Lizard heads into our seventh year of professional racing, our goal is to again win our class championship in the ALMS and to finish on the podium at Le Mans. Openwave will play an important part of our 2010 program."

The Lizards are in Sebring this week for the ALMS Winter Test.
