FORT WORTH-DALLAS (Feb. 16, 2001) - Ron Fellows hopes history repeats itself March 4 during the Leather Center Grand Prix of Texas American LeMans Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. And the way Fellows' fortunes have been lately, it is likely that the Canadian will be gracing victory lane.

Fellows joined Andy Pilgrim on the victory podium for Team Corvette's first ALMS GTS class victory last September at the inaugural Grand Prix at the speedway. Recently Fellows kicked off the 2001 season with not only a class victory but also the overall title at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in Florida driving the GM Goodwrench Service Plus Corvette.

"This was a very sweet win for all the guys," said Fellows of a GTS-class vehicle defeating all the prototypes in the Daytona field. "I mean, this is big for GM Racing Corvette, not just to win the GTS class but to win overall is a huge bonus. I couldn't be happier or more proud to be a part of this whole three-year deal that we started in the fall of 1997."

Fellows will team with former CART champ car driver Chris Kneifel for the 2-hour, 45-minute Leather Center Grand Prix of Texas on Sunday afternoon, March 4. Challenging Fellows and Kneifel for the GTS class victory will be a team Corvette driven by Pilgrim, Kelly Collins and Franck Freon, a pair of Saleen Mustangs and the Chamberlain Motorsports Dodge Viper.

The Leather Center Grand Prix will also include the Prototype, LMP 675 Prototype and the GT divisions. Last year's Grand Prix winner, the Team Joest Audi of Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro, will return as part of a two-car Audi factory effort along with a pair of Panoz Motorsports roadsters expected to challenge.

Leather Center Grand Prix of Texas tickets are on sale at the speedway ticket office, by calling (817) 215-8500, online at www.texasmotorspeedway.com and Ticketmaster locations.
