STUART, Fla. (Aug. 26, 2013) – In a year full of transition and preparation for the 2014 United SportsCar Racing season, Extreme Speed Motorsports makes another change beginning with the seventh round of the 2013 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón.

For this weekend’s Grand Prix of Baltimore, Anthony Lazzaro will partner Scott Sharp behind the wheel of the the ESM No. 01 Tequila Patrón Honda Performance Development ARX-03b.

Lazzaro is a familiar face in the ESM paddock. The 1999 24 Hours of Daytona winner teamed with Ed Brown and Johannes van Overbeek in the No. 02 Tequila Patrón HPD at the 12 Hours of Sebring, where the trio finished fourth in the P2 class.

In 2012, Lazzaro competed with ESM at Sebring International Raceway and Road Atlanta in the No. 02 GT car. He was seventh in class at the 12 Hours and finished ninth at Atlanta.

The two-hour Grand Prix of Baltimore takes place Aug. 30-31.

Scott Sharp

“I’m super excited to be teamed with Anthony for Baltimore. He was on the ground floor of our switch to P2 cars earlier this season at Sebring as a co-driver in the No. 02 machine. He did a fantastic job and turned some incredible lap times during the race.

“Anthony knows us, the team, the cars and I think he’ll jump into the No. 01 and do a terrific job as my co-driver in Baltimore.

“We’re ready to conquer Baltimore and get back on that top step of the podium.

"I want to thank Guy for representing ESM and Tequila Patrón for the last three years. On behalf of the team, we wish him well on his future endeavors.”

Anthony Lazzaro

“I haven’t been to Baltimore yet, so it will be a new experience for me. I’m looking forward to driving the car again because it has undergone a lot of development since I drove it last at Sebring. I’m completely comfortable and feel at home with the entire ESM team.

“To have this opportunity is very satisfying. I’m happy they called me for Baltimore.”
