The conditions were cold and windy all the cars left the pit lane at the start of the session, lead by the pole position Audi of Capello/Kristensen. Almost immediately the car of Lambert/McKella spun into the gravel on the first flying lap, and subsequently failed to complete a timed lap.

The lead Audi went straight to the top of the times, followed by Johansson/Smith and Biela/Pirro. The times quickly tumbled and Collins/Lupberger improved to third position, before being knocked down by Graff/Salles. For most of the session Dalmas/Beretta and Bouillon/Redo swapped third position.

The lead Audi was the first to lap under 1m 24s on its sixth lap and then improved to 1m 22.876 on the next lap with Pirro/Biela close behind. Johansson/Smith struggled during the session and ultimately their Audi finished 8th.

Most cars returned to the pits after about ten minutes to allow the teams to check over the cars and change drivers, and again twenty minutes into the session.

Biela/Pirro set some fast times towards the end of the session eventually improving by 0.1 seconds. Dalmas/Beretta also climbed up to third place improving by almost a second in the closing laps.

However the session belonged to Audi, who have now topped the times for every session so far and look in extremely good shape for the race.
