HIGHCROFT RACING STARTS FIFTH ON GRID IN TOMORROW'S BELLE ISLE GRAND PRIX IN DETROIT
MP2 DOMINATES TOP SIX POSITIONS

Highcroft Racing, who has been running steadily in the top three during practice sessions this week, took fifth position in the starting lineup for tomorrow's Belle Island Grand Prix in downtown Detroit. It is the first time on the course for David Brabham, who qualified the Acura ARX-01a with a lap speed of 1:14.010.

Said Brabham of this afternoon's results, "as we've built toward the weekend, we've been struggling to get the front end into the apex, which is an issue we've been experiencing recently. It just restricts you, speed-wise. We've shown this week in practice that we're very competitive, and even in today's qualifying, we weren't that far behind. The guys on the team have done a very good job getting the car into shape. We'll look at all the data to see what we can do to improve the front end. There's just too much push right now."

Stefan Johansson, who has enjoyed great success at Belle Isle, took to the circuit for the first time in six years this week. Said Johansson of the team's starting position, "it's a little disappointing given that we've been running in the top three in every session up until now. So obviously, the car is not where we want it to be. David was mentioning a lot of understeer and that will kill your speed everywhere you go. It's critical we get some of that dialed out but otherwise the car is strong. Even starting fifth we can certainly do quite well when it comes to race day."
