BRASELTON, GA – The DeltaWing team took a long list of positives from the recent American Le Mans Series race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, where the innovative prototype ran near the top of the speed charts throughout the weekend.

On another track known for its sweeping turns and long straights, this week’s Orion Energy Systems 245 at Road America should be an event ready-made for the DeltaWing.

Both drivers look forward to experiencing the DeltaWing trademarks - significantly reduced aerodynamic drag and lighter weight – on the fast and furious four-mile road course. This will be Andy Meyrick’s first time racing at the historic Wisconsin track, but Katherine Legge is well known to local fans as she hopes to put some positives in her Road America memory banks.

“I’ve raced here three times,” said Legge. “I finished second in an Atlantic race and of course, in my first Champ Car race here I had a horrific accident. It’s a testament to the safety of racing equipment and the track that I was able to walk away from it. But I still love this place; it’s one of my favorite tracks in the entire world.

And I think it will be a good one for the DeltaWing, considering its speed in a straight line and its lack of drag. It will be interesting to see how the car handles the fast first two turns, as well as the Carousel and the Kink.”

“It really is an iconic and historic circuit,” agreed Meyrick, “and to bring the DeltaWing there for the first time should be really cool for the fans. The nature of the circuit should help us, with its sweeping turns, but what really helps is how much we learn each time we go out.

The team is doing a phenomenal job of figuring out how this car ticks. We said from the outset that this is a development program and we can see that the changes we are trying during the race weekends are working. For a driver, that’s really encouraging. “

The Orion Energy Systems 245, race six in the 2013 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron season, will be on ABC at 3:00pm Sunday, August 11. Live qualifying will be on ESPN3.com at 10:45am Saturday.
