Ooltewah, TN. -- Chili Pepper Racing, LLC., and Brian Skuza, Road Atlanta's General Manager, announced today that the 2006 Post Petit Le Mans Charity Motorcycle ride to benefit the Light House Family Retreat will be Sunday October1, 2006. The annual charity ride follows the Petit Le Mans Sept. 27 - Sept. 30.

The charity ride begins with a track ride around the world famous 2.54 mile, 12 turn Road Atlanta Grand Prix circuit. Participants are then lead off over the beautiful twisting mountain roads of North Georgia by World Class Racer like Randy Pobst, Terry Borscheller, Dorsey Shreoder, Alex Job, Stu Hayner, and Steve Pfeffer. Monies raised from the ride benefit the families of the Light House Family Retreat.

As one of the premier motorsports events in the world, the Petit Le Mans features a 1,000-mile/10-hour format that races into the night. The competition will be terrific, with the Road Atlanta debut of the new Porsche RS Spyder, the exciting new Audi R10 diesel, a stronger Dyson team with the new twin turbo Lola AER, the return of BMW and the addition of the new Lexus. The 10-hour, 100-mile American Le Mans Series race is set for Saturday, Sept. 30, following three days of practice, qualifying and support races including SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring and GT, Panoz GT Pro Series, new IMSA Lites, Star Mazda and IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge.

Light House Family Retreat: In 1999, a vision was cast by Melinda Mayton, the founder of The Lighthouse Family Retreat. Working as a pediatric oncology nurse for eight years, she recognized the devastation that cancer brought to the entire family. On August 8, 2000, The Lighthouse Family Retreat held its Inaugural Retreat for six children with cancer, their families and volunteers. 2006 marks the beginning of the 7th retreat season. The ministry has served more than 400 children with cancer and their families, hosted 35 retreats and has received more than $2M from thousands of contributing partners.

Road Atlanta: Road Atlanta is part of the Panoz Motor Sports Group. Since purchasing Road Atlanta in 1996, Don Panoz has made millions of dollars in improvements designed to create a perfect blend of safety for the racers and comfort and convenience for the fans. We hope you will visit often and experience the excitement only Road Atlanta can offer! The 2006 Road Atlanta schedule includes 14 spectator events, highlighted by the nineth annual Petit Le Mans Sept. 27-28, the AMA Suzuki Superbike Showdown presented by Makita Sept. 1-3
