Baltimore, MD – August 29th, 2012 – The Conquest Endurance team will hit the streets of Baltimore this weekend where they will be looking for their third win of the year at the Baltimore Sports Car Challenge presented by SRT, the eight round of the 2012 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón season. The Conquest squad is coming off a dominant victory at Road America where they started from pole, lead the most laps, and took the win at the four hour event.

Through their strong results in the last ALMS events the Conquest team and drivers David Heinemeier Hansson and Martin Plowman have managed to close down the championship gap to the Level 5 Motorsport team and are now trailing by only five points, making them serious contenders for the title with three remaining races in the 2012 season.

For Plowman the bumpy street circuit will be a familiar setting as last year he competed in an Indycar scoring an 11th place finish around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The Conquest team also has experience with the track as last year they finished 13th also in the IndyCar race before launching their endurance division in 2012. Heinemeier Hansson will be the only odd man out without experience at the track but the Danish driver has proven to be a quick study in the past and has managed to rapidly get up to speed regardless of his familiarity with the tracks.

David Heinemeier Hansson Driver #37 Conquest Endurance / Morgan / Nissan Dunlop "The Morgan-Nissan seems to love street courses. We were very dominant at Long Beach earlier this year and only failed to win because of different problems that we had. I'm confident that we're going to Baltimore as a much stronger team than we were then, so that's very exciting. We'll be fighting tooth and nail to keep this championship hunt alive. If we can secure a win at Baltimore, we'll at worst be a single point behind in the championship, and at best be leading it."

Martin Plowman Driver #37 Conquest Endurance / Morgan / Nissan Dunlop "For the Baltimore GP my number one item on my packing list was a mouth guard. The track is easily the bumpiest track I have been on, so it will be a true test of reliability for our Morgan-Nissan LMP2 car. The track layout was very aggressive but a lot of fun last year. They have made some changes for this year, so I am excited to see what they look like. It is a very heavy steering, high-cardio kind of track, combined with the high temperatures, a lot of drivers were really put to the test fitness wise, I feel like I am in better shape after a stronger off-season of training so it won't be an issue.

The Baltimore event last year was a fan favorite and a new favorite track for me too. I posted a strong result in my third and final Indycar race of 2011, so I am looking forward to attacking the street course in the ALMS race and pick up where we left off in Road America. We can't afford to let our focus slip for even half a second here."
