New signings J J Lehto and Emanuele Pirro join Team ADT Champion Racing regular Stefan Johansson in shakedown runs at the Moroso venue in Florida this week.

Lehto, delayed seven hours due to snow in New York, and Pirro, who arrived direct from the World Skiing Championships in St Moritz, Switzerland, spent today (MON) taking their first look around the Champion Racing facility at Pompano Beach.

Lehto and Pirro both had a seat fitting for the now updated 2002-spec Audi R8 while Johansson, who partners the Finn and Italian in the opening round of the American Le Mans Series at Sebring on 15 March, arrives tonight (MON).

"I'm very impressed with Dave Maraj's facility," confirmed Lehto who will be driving an all-conquering Audi R8 for the first time in Wednesday's single-day test. "He's got together a good team of guys and I'm delighted to be apart of it."

2001 ALMS champion and three-time Le Mans 24 Hour winner Pirro added: "I've been surprised by Champion Racing's set-up. I knew that it was good from racing against them over the past two seasons but having looked around its raceshop today, I can now see why they've been so competitive. I have a very good feeling about Sebring."

Also present were Randy Pobst and defending SPEED World Challenge GT champion Michael Galati who are hoping to test their new Audi RS6 "Competitions" later this week at Sebring. Galati has driven the Audi S4 "Competition" for the past three seasons.
