Braun, who won the PC pole one month ago at Sebring with a new lap record, spent the 20-minute qualifying session closing the gap to a quick lap set by RSR Racing’s Bruno Junqueira. His final flyer around the 1.968-mile circuit, a 1:16.222 (92.950 mph) nearly got the job done, but came up just 0.055-second short.

Though Braun was disappointed to not bring home the pole position for CORE, the entire team is enthusiastic about the pace of the No. 05 ORECA FLM09 and is looking forward to a strong performance in the Tequila Patrón American Le Mans Series at Long Beach
