BMW confirms full ALMS assault
BMW has confirmed that it is to take part in the full American Le Mans series this year. It will put in two cars for JJ Lehto & Jorg Mueller, plus one for Bill Auberlen and A.N.Other. Joachim Winkelhock was expected to drive for them, but has now switched to Opel in the DTM.
Team Schnitzer will run the team. The team will be present at the two European races - Silverstone and Nurburgring - but not Le Mans.
Le Mans changes pre-qualifying rules
The ACO has decided to scarp the timed-basis for accepting entries on April 30th. There will now be a selection committee to decide "on other criteria" who will be accepted for the French classic.
