Tavares, FLA. - Alex Job Racing's (AJR) Cooper MacNeil will be joined by Jeroen Bleekemolen for the Road America Road Race Showcase to be run at Elkhart Lake's Road America Aug. 16-18. Bleekemolen is subbing for AJR regular Leh Keen who has a schedule conflict.

Bleekemolen (Monte Carlo) is a two-time ALMS GTC champion and a double race winner so far this year. The fast Dutchman took the checker first at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and ten-days ago at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. In addition, he has won the GTC Class at Road America the last two years.

"It's great to run with Alex Job Racing," Bleekemolen said.

"Having raced against them many times I know how good the team is. They have a great record in racing. They are leading the championship, so they are having a great season.

I'm sure we will be a strong combination!

I have already competed and won two races in GTC this year, so I hope to keep my perfect score and get a third win.

Road America is one of the best tracks in the world. Its high speed and really challenges a driver. In some ways it makes me think of Le Mans. I love driving there. Although a big part of the track is high speed, I feel it's also very important to have a good car in the low-speed corners. I know some corners typically have understeer. You just have to cope with that. I feel with Alex Job Racing I have to best chance to succeed. Also it's great that this is a four-hour race."

MacNeil (Hinsdale, ILL) extended his lead in the GTC Class points standings at Mid-Ohio on the strength of a third-place finish. He pushed his points total to 97, 12 over teammate Keen and 24 over the third-place competitor. MacNeil has a lot of miles at Road America, competing there during the Le Mans break in the competitive SCCA June Sprints.

"Road America is my home track, which will play as an advantage over the other cars," MacNeil said.

"We are leading the points. We just have to keep our nose clean and run hard, same as we always do. My favorite section of the track would be the turns 9,10,11,12,13 complex, because they all flow together so well.

This section should be fun in the WeatherTech/AJR Porsche Cup car. I will miss Leh as he will be in Montreal with Brumos, but I'm looking forward to driving with Jeroen because I know he's a strong driver."

Team owner, Alex Job, is pulling out all the stops as the team goes after the GTC championship.

"Jeroen is consistently one of the fastest drivers when he competes in the GTC Class," Job said. "He has won the class the last two years, has two wins this year and has won the Road America race the last two years. Cooper probably has more laps at Road America than any other track we run. WeatherTech has had a relationship as a track sponsor for the last few years, so this is a big weekend for us."
