DTM: With a double victory at Hockenheim, Audi managed a successful start to the 2007 DTM season. 101,000 spectators (throughout the weekend) witnessed an impressive debut of the evolution Audi A4 DTM that was the quickest car on all three days of the event. The Swede Mattias Ekstrom celebrated his tenth victory in the DTM with a flawless race and perfect strategy of Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline. Martin Tomczyk bumped Mercedes driver Bruno Spengler from second place on the last lap to complete Audi's triumph. Following a heavy crash in the first lap, Tom Kristensen and Alexandre Premat required medical attention and were taken to hospitals for thorough medical examinations. While Tom Kristensen was found to have merely suffered bruises, Alexandre Premat sustained a rupture of a lumbar vertebra. According to doctors, this will not result in any permanent damage. Nevertheless, the Frenchman will have to take a break from racing.

ALMS: On the city circuit in Houston (State of Texas) Dindo Capello/Allan McNish and Emanuele Pirro/Marco Werner claimed another 1-2 victory for Audi in the LM P1 category after a turbulent and exciting race. After suffering a puncture, Capello/McNish were only beaten by 1.341 seconds in the fight for the overall victory, achieving third place overall behind two lighter LM P2 category cars.

Strong debut of Frank Stippler

STCC: At his debut in the Swedish Touring Car Championship, Frank Stippler has shown a strong performance: The German fought his way from the back of the field to fifth position and was best Audi driver at Sturup. Stippler set the fastest time during qualifying and achieved third position in the super pole. Because his team refuelled the Audi A4 STCC on the grid, he had to start a catching-up-race from the last place. With positions six and seven, Audi drivers Tommy Kristoffersson and Thed Bjork also collected points.
