John Force's three floppers flopped at Bristol. The three cars spanned the spectrum on performance with Tony Pedregon going out with an unusual DNQ, Gary Densham getting the best qualifying time and Force falling in the middle. Ron Capps celebrates his victory with crew chief Ed McCulloch and team owner Don Prudhomme. Ron Capps and Al Hofmann do a side-by-side burn out prior to running the Funny Car final. Capps takes the win.
Doug Kalitta take the win over Larry Dixon on his way to taking the race. Greg Anderson was the crew chief when Warren Johnson made the first 200mph pass in Pro Stock.  Now Anderson takes his first win as a Pro Stock driver.
Mike Dunn came into the race leading the top fuel field, however with a poor showing Dunn left the race in second in points. Quain Stott inches forward to the starting line in Pro Mod exhibition racing.  Stott went on to take the win in a competitive Pro Mod field.
