An amazing return by BMW in the DTM with their M3 DTM cars in the tightly-contested German-based series, and Canadian driver Bruno Spengler finally landed his championship. Without a doubt, they are the number four in our top 20 moments countdown.
The two American sportscar series are now under NASCAR, but the final decisions still need to be made prior to the on-track competition in 2014. Motorsport.com placed it fifth in our top five moments of the year.

Nani Roma, Monster Energy X-raid Team Mini driver, previews the 2013 Dakar. The Spaniard is ready for the demanding contest with the first stage on January 5th in Lima, Peru.
Ryan Hunter-Reay never gave up in his chase for the IZOD IndyCar crown. Nor did Michael Andretti and his Andretti Autosport team as they gave RHR the best they could.
With seven MotoGP championships, the Italian decided to go for the empty seat on the Yamaha Factory Team, and for those reasons, Valentino Rossi was named to the 8th spot on our top ten moments.

Asian Le Mans Series prepares for their first season with special interviews, Mark Goddard, team principal for Craft Racing AMR, brings insight of the preparation to take on the new challenge in 2013.
The 11th top moment was an easy decision by the staff at Motorsport.com: The Clint Bowyer/Jeff Gordon fight at Phoenix which, of course, included their teams!
Following Marc Coma’s withdrawal from the Dakar 2013, Cyril Despres’ chances of winning the title a fifth time have certainly improved… but the competition for the French rider could be even stronger.

Motorsport.com staff selected as the 15th top moment the pull out of Peugeot's prototype contender that was to contest the World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Reason given was “economic reasons”!

Christian Horner had nothing but praise for the Red Bull Racing crew and the two drivers: Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. The team again celebrated the championship, along with the three times Formula One world champion Vettel.

The first of the Top 20 Moments of 2012 selected by Motorsport.com staff goes to Allen Johnson who landed his first NHRA Pro Stock championship. It was a remarkable season for the Johnson & Johnson Racing team.
The British Touring Car Championship had a tight battle this past season with Gordon Shedden taking the title. MG may not have won the Manufacturers title but they definitely made their mark in their return to the BTCC.

Seven of the eight racers for the Audi A5 DTMs are ready for the new year knowing the difficulty of the challenge as Audi will again take on the BMW and Mercedes teams for the 2013 championship.
Audi WEC and DTM works drivers will be busy in 2013, starting with the Audi R8s lineup for Grand-Am's Daytona 24H. Audi R18 E-tron will contest the 12 Hours of Sebring.
