Ready, set, action for the opening race of the V8 Supercars Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, Australia on and off the circuit.

Changes in the V8 Supercars made for an interesting first day of the Clipsal 500 on the streets of Adelaide. Besides the addition of Nissan and Mercedes to the series, a new driver appeared from the MotoGP ranks.

Once again the V8 Supercars Australia put on quite the show and today was no different when Will Davison put the moves on Garth Tander to take the lead on lap 2 at Homebush.

Jamie Whincup helps teammate Craig Lowndes to victory at Homebush to allow him to hold second place in the points over Mark Winterbottom. Hot temperatures in Australia cause drivers to suffer heat exhaustion.

First Jamie Whincup did not make it into the top 10 chasing for the pole, and then Will Davison made unusual errors. Tim Slade is one happy pole winner in the V8 Supercars Australia season finale weekend.

Rain played a factor in the first qualifying for the Sydney 500.The track dried at the end but several top drivers will not have a shot at the pole; including Whincup!

Practice day for the Australia V8 Supercars was extremely hot; especially for the drivers on and off the track Homebush circuit.

2013 will see the new cars including Nissan and Mercedes, along with new events for the V8 Supercars.
