Wesleigh Orr To Race At Kyalami
A class Formula Vee field, which includes five Formula Vee National Champions, with eight Championships between them, will be further enhanced by Team South Africa A1 Grand Prix rookie driver Wesleigh Orr who is entered for the Formula Vee Race, at the Pro Tour race meeting at Kyalami this Saturday, in the No120 Rhema 2.
Nineteen year old Orr, from Vereeniging, has raced a Formula Vee before, as a fifteen year old but with more than a combined fifty years of Formula Vee racing experience between the five Champions alone, he is going to be hard pressed, to even finish in the top three at Kyalami. His appearance in the race, should however be more about gaining experience, learning and honing his racing skills, ahead of his next appearance in Vulindlela, during the Friday morning Rookie Sessions at Sepeng in Malasia, on the 23rd November. Formula Vee produces close wheel to wheel racing, similar A1 GP and along with his Karting and Mexican Formula Renault experience, competing in the Formula Vee races at Kyalami this Saturday, should further equip Orr, for the day when he will hopefully get the chance to compete, for A1 Team South Africa, in a A1 Grand Prix.
Orr already has an impressive Karting record, including a number of South African National Karting Championships, as well as some European Karting Championships, with the highlights of his highly successful Karting career being his victories for South Africa, in the World Finals of the Max Challenge RM1 and DD2 classes in Spain and the following year in Malasia, as well as the Rok World Finals in Italy. Formula Vee is honored, to have a driver of his stature, in our field for the Kyalami race this weekend.
