A1 TEAM GBR TO RETURN TO HAPPY HUNTING GROUND

London, Great Britain -- A1 Team Great Britain is set to return to the venue of two of its race wins as A1GP announces Brands Hatch as the 2008/09 season finale

A1 Team Great Britain is delighted that the season finale of the 2008/09 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport will once again take place at the Brands Hatch circuit in Great Britain on 1-3 May 2009. The track has been a happy hunting ground for the British squad in the past, with two of its race victories taking place at the Kent circuit, both at the hands of Robbie Kerr in the Sprint events of seasons two and three.

Brands Hatch hosted the inaugural A1GP race weekend in September 2005, and in the 06/07 and 07/08 seasons, was the electric venue for the championship finales. A1 Team Great Britain claimed pole position and took the Sprint race victory in both the last two events at the circuit, as well as the runner-up spot in each of the Feature races.

For the season four finale, A1 Team GBR will be aiming for victory in the new A1GP Powered by Ferrari car and will be looking to retain its record as holder of the most victories on home soil, in addition to fighting for the Championship title. The team is due to test the car for the first time at Snetterton in Norfolk before embarking on the season opener at Zandvoort in the Netherlands on 3-5 October.

Katie Clements, Team Principal, A1 Team GBR: "We are very happy that Brands Hatch will host the season final in May 2009. It is truly our home track and holds a lot of happy memories for us. This year we very much hope to be heading into our home race as the title favourites and will be aiming once again to take race victories there."

Pete da Silva, Chief Executive Officer, A1GP: "We are pleased to announce A1GP is returning to Brands Hatch for a fourth consecutive season. We have worked hard to put together an interesting calendar of challenging circuits for the new A1GP Powered by Ferrari cars, and Brands Hatch will provide an exciting final venue."
