Quiet start at Taupo

The Czech team went through usual Friday's routine at Taupo where Jarek Janis and Tomas Enge were in action. The magnificent Lake Taupo provides the backdrop for one of the most picturesque races of the season. The New Zealand's round is the first in the New Year. Jarek Janis started the action in the rookie session. His task was to shake down the car and scrub two sets of brake pads.

Enge got behind the wheel for the free practice. He worked on the setup of the car and did 25 laps with best time 1:16,967. He ended up 18th with a gap 1.4s to the first position. However, Enge hopes that the rest of the weekend will be better and fortune will be on his side. He was fastest on Friday last year, but left empty handed after bad luck in both race.

Tomas Enge: "Quite a different beginning comparing to last year when we were fastest. To be honest, if race results will be different as well then I would not complain! It seems that we need to setup our car in a different way than last year. We still have time to improve it tomorrow and I am confident that we will move forward."

Antonin Charouz, Seat holder: "We worked on the setup for the rest of the weekend. Like always, Friday's times are not important, the main part of the weekend is coming."
