Impressive race for Ho-Pin Tung

Dutch Chinese driver Ho-Pin Tung finished his disappointing weekend in Taupo, New Zealand in 9th place. During the whole weekend the young driver had problemes finding the car right set-up for the A1 Team China car. After the disappointing qualifying result the team decided to change the set-up completely and Ho-Pin was able to improve from his 17th starting spot and finish the weekend in the top 10.

''After the practice sessions we were very disapointed but we worked hard, had a long debrief and decided to change the car set-up completely which was a good step in the right direction. In the Feature race I could drive very fast and competative lap times and was able to overtake some other drivers. Hopefully we can start the next weekend in Australia a lot better with this car set-up''.

The current German F3 champion started the Sprintrace from 17th spot. Despite some problems with the brakes he still managed to overtake a couple of drivers and finished the race which was won by Team Germany in 13th spot. Before the start of the feature race the team replaced the braking system and Ho-Pin's lap times improved and one by one he was improving is track position. Just like the Sprint race, Team Germany also won the feature race and Ho-Pin finished the race in 9th place which was a great achievement considering the problems with the car set-up and the onfortunate start of the weekend.

Ho-Pin Tung will again drive the A1 Team China car in two weeks time when A1 Grand Prix will race in Sydney, Australia.

Note; Final result still under investigation. Team's USA/GBR/MEX/SIN/SUI is still being investigated which might influence the final results.
