Edoardo Piscopo makes his way into the A1GP top-10 at Mexico City

A positive weekend came for Edoardo Piscopo at Mexico City, in the 8th round of the A1 Grand Prix. Edoardo, who ended his stint as a rookie, served once again as a top-role driver for Team Italy. Practice saw Edoardo run very consistently, and cruise to the top of the charts in the third session of the day. He then had a good performance in qualifying too, reducing the gap with the series' top teams, and managing to enter the top-10. On Race 1, Edoardo took off from Row 5. Despite some initial troubles he was able to end up in 11th place, while on Race two, an engine problem ended the day after just two laps. Edoardo is now eager to get to the next venue, in order to continue the steady progression shown during the latest races.

"The weekend was tougher than expected because I lost the status of rookie, so I had less time to learn an unknown track. We made big steps forward with the car, and discovered new set-up solutions that boosted performances, though it became a little more heavy to drive. It's a bit of a shame for Race 2, where we lost the chance to shine due to an engine problem. Usually, the longer Feature Race allows you to profit from the many diverse racing situations you face, if you commit no mistakes, and secure valuable points. Get into the top-10 was very important to me; we hope to improve even more at Shanghai..."
