Mayor of Hinchtown elected as Secretary of Speed for A1GP Team Canada

Ludington, MI -- September 19, 2006 -- James Hinchcliffe (Hinch) has been selected to race for national pride in the opening round of the 2006/2007 A1 Grand Prix.

"I'm really looking forward to racing for Canada in A1GP. I always wanted to be an Olympian but I can't run, jump, or swim very well, so that dream died pretty quick. But now I can represent my country on a world stage doing something I'm actually good at!" explained Hinch. "It was fantastic going to the official test at Silverstone and testing myself against guys like Jos Verstappen and Alex Yoong, who have F1 experience, and others that have raced and won championships in the world's top series. The team is great and we instantly started working well together and managed to run competitive times, so I think we are very well prepared for the season and I can't wait to kick things off in Holland."

Prior to heading off to Zandvoort, Hinch heads to Road America for the final round of the Yokohama presents the Champ Car Atlantic Series powered by Mazda.
