Huge progress Ho-Pin Tung

Team China and driver Ho-Pin Tung have made huge progress in performance during preparations for the two A1GP races this weekend in "down under" Sydney. During friday's free practice the Chinese team was struggling with the balance of the car and on saturday morning the team had some difficulties with excessive tyre wear. The young Chinese driver finished the afternoon's qualifying session in sixth place which will be his starting spot for the sprint race. The results of the sprintrace will determine the starting positions for the feature race.

Ho-Pin:"I am relieved everything went well on the critical moments'. After a difficult friday we changed a lot on the setup of the car. On saturday morning the setup was much better but we had too much tyre wear. The team did a very good job to change the setup.

During qualifying we used new tyres and everything went well. A good balance, the right car setup suited to my driving style provided me the sixth starting spot. Altough the lap was not perfect, I had minor brake problems, I could have gone faster.'

Team China driver Ho-Pin thinks the Sydney circuit is very tricky because of the elevation and a circuit where it is difficult to overtake. He is optimistic for sunday: "I hope I can overtake some people at the start of the race, just like I did in New Zealand."
