In the afternoon of March 24, Greek time, China's first driver fulfilled his honorable mission of carrying the Olympic torch.

The drizzle finally stopped before Cheng Congfu passed on the torch. As the torch was lit, Cheng Congfu held it high with his right hand, in his left hand was the national flag of China. 200 meters passed quickly for the professional driver. Soon, he passed the flame to the next bearer, CEO of Aig, Feng Jun.

After completing the mission, Cheng Congfu could not help his excitement, "I ran too fast. The 200 meters passed with the blink of an eye. Though it was short, I still enjoyed the feeling!" Talking about holding the national flag, which was different from other torch bearers, Cheng Congfu said, "because the next torch bearer is also a Chinese, so I hope to pass on the national flag at the same time to bring out the spirit of Beijing Olympics." The torch will be carefully kept by him.

After the torch relay, Cheng Congfu immediately left for France to take part in the pre-race test of Euro F3.He will be as the signed driver of Volkswagen, representing RC Motorspor team of Italy to join in this race. This is so far the race of the highest level that Chinese native drivers have taken part in. After that, he will show up in A1GP Shanghai, representing Team China in April.

To be a torch bearer of Beijing Olympics is as important as to stand on the top podium of racing for Cheng Congfu, "I think both of them are very important. As a sportsman of a non-Olympic sport, I feel honorable to be part of such a big event. As a Chinese and a Beijing people, I am very proud. My years' efforts being acknowledged gave me the chance to be a torch bearer. My goal is not achieved yet. There is still a long way to go. As the only native Chinese driver to regularly take part in international level races, I hope I can have good results in this year's Euro F3, as well as to reach my goal earlier, that is to become the first F1 driver of China."
